These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of LastMind, an online learning platform provided by Lawrence Wood, trading as LastMind ("LastMind", "we", "us", "our"), operating as an individual. By creating an account or using LastMind, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use LastMind.
These Terms should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your personal information.
You must be at least 13 years old to create a LastMind account. We ask for your date of birth when you sign up and will not create an account for anyone who does not meet this minimum age.
The information you give us when creating an account (email, first name, date of birth, academic year, education level, subjects) should be accurate. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for anything that happens under your account.
LastMind provides personalised learning content, retrieval practice and spaced repetition to help you study. Some content, marking and feedback is generated using artificial intelligence.
AI-generated content may not always be accurate. Explanations, questions, mark schemes and feedback produced by AI are a study aid, not a guaranteed or official assessment. We do not guarantee that an AI-generated mark, grade or piece of feedback is correct, or that it reflects the mark or grade you would achieve in a real exam or from a qualified teacher or examiner. You remain responsible for verifying important information (such as exam technique or mark scheme requirements) against official exam board materials or a qualified teacher.
We may change, add to, or remove features of LastMind at any time. We will try to give reasonable notice of any change that materially reduces what a paid subscription includes.
LastMind organises content by reference to exam board names (such as AQA, Pearson Edexcel and OCR) purely to indicate which specification our content is aligned to. LastMind is an independent revision resource and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to AQA, Pearson Edexcel, OCR, or any other exam board. Any specification content we refer to when preparing lessons is restated in our own independent wording, not reproduced from the original specification documents, and no exam board logos or official branding are used.
Some features require a paid subscription. Prices and billing periods (monthly or annual) are shown before you subscribe. Payments are processed by Stripe - LastMind does not receive or store your full card details.
A paid subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time via "Manage Subscription," which opens Stripe's own billing portal.
If you are a consumer in the UK, you normally have a legal right to cancel a new subscription within 14 days for a full refund. We honour this: if you cancel within 14 days of starting a LastMind subscription, we will give you a full refund, whether or not you have started using the paid features.
Fair use of this right: the 14-day refund is intended for a genuine change of mind, not as a way to use LastMind's paid features on a recurring free basis by repeatedly subscribing and cancelling. Where we reasonably believe a pattern of repeated subscribe-cancel-refund activity on the same account, person, or payment method is being used this way, we may refuse a further refund, and may limit, suspend, or close the account involved. This does not affect a genuine one-off cancellation, or your right to cancel a subscription you have not previously received a 14-day refund on.

We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches this section, or that we reasonably believe poses a risk to LastMind, other users, or the law.
You keep ownership of the free-text answers and notes you write. By submitting them, you give us permission to process, store and (where relevant, after automated filtering intended to remove personal information) send them to our AI provider, solely to provide and improve LastMind's features, as described in our Privacy Policy.
You should avoid including unnecessary personal information about yourself or other people in your answers or notes.
LastMind's lesson content, questions, software, design and branding belong to us or our licensors. You may use them for your own personal study; you may not copy, republish, or use them commercially without our permission.
LastMind may offer the option to book one-to-one time directly with LastMind's founder, as a separate paid feature from your core subscription. Peer-to-peer student tutoring (students helping other students) is not currently offered.
We provide LastMind with reasonable care and skill, but to the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for exam results, grades, or academic outcomes, since these depend on many factors beyond LastMind's content alone.
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for anything that cannot legally be limited, such as death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud.
No internet-based service can guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we do not guarantee that LastMind will always be available.
You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. This does not automatically cancel a paid subscription - please cancel this separately first (see "Cancellation and refunds").
We may suspend or end your access to LastMind if you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms, or if we are required to by law.
We may update these Terms from time to time, for example if our services or the law change. If we make a significant change, we will let you know before it takes effect. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If a dispute cannot be resolved directly, it can be brought before the courts of England and Wales - if you live elsewhere in the UK, you may also be able to bring proceedings in your local courts.
