Who We Are
Through first-hand experience, we have seen how much potential is lost in the way students revise. Not being taught how learning actually works makes hours of revision far less effective than they should be. Misaligned spacing, inefficient repetition and unresolved misunderstandings all combine to reduce the impact of the precious time students put in.
LastMind exists to fix that. Our mission is to help you plan your revision using principles inspired by neuroscience, supported by an interactive system designed to resolve misunderstandings, strengthen memory and limit the forgetting of content.
The goal is simple: turn your effort into the grades you deserve.
The Platform
A platform that compiles your notes into a structure inspired by neuroscience, from which you can take structured, purposeful lessons.
Each lesson is built around active recall, with a diagnostic structure that helps reveal the cause of incorrect answers — not just the fact that they are wrong.
Diagnostics are followed by personalised feedback designed to correct your errors and address the specific misunderstanding at the root of each mistake.
Following every lesson, students are provided with a calendar indicating precisely when to review the material for maximum retention.
The timing of each review is specifically designed to have the largest possible impact in limiting forgetting, guided by the science of spaced repetition.
The structure applies to any subject where long-term memory matters — across GCSE, A-Level and university content.
The Method
LastMind is built around well‑established principles in cognitive science. These principles explain that learning improves when information is retrieved, revisited at the right time, and explained clearly in mechanistic ways. These ideas guide how LastMind structures revision.
Students work through short, focused questions that strengthen understanding and highlight any gaps. When misunderstandings appear, LastMind uses a diagnostic system to identify the root cause of the misconception, before giving a personalised response designed to correct this misunderstanding.
To support long‑term retention, LastMind then schedules timely review sessions modelled by adaptive algorithms. The type of retrieval question at this point becomes more mechanistic, allowing for a better understanding to develop once the foundations are achieved.
